Dayo was born in Nigeria during the 80s and came to the UK in 2005 to study fashion design and completed his fashion course with distinction. He also entered a fashion competition where his work was showcased in London fashion week exhibition. From there he then got an apprenticeship in Saville Row to study bespoke tailoring where he won an outstanding student award. He was also awarded a ticket to attend a master class tailoring at Henry Pool. Following this masterclass, he was inspired to setup his own workshop in his room.
Setting up the workshop required machines so Dayo decided to invest in buying his own machine. He then bought his first machine at one of the leading Sewing Machine companies in London where he began to discover new passion for machineries and this lead him to pursue a career in sewing machine repairs. The owner of the sewing machine company showed him such a great kindness that he was inspired to work within the company and this is where his passion for machineries started. He became an employee and began to learn the trade.
Working as a sewing machine engineer has helped Dayo to gain knowledge and the opportunity to work behind the scenes with different brands within the fashion industry such as Alexander McQueen Christopher Kane Burberry , Frank Horn; as well as university colleges. Working with a range of machines made him realise the impact and also the pivotal role that machines play in the fashion industry and the creative world. He saw machines as a treasure trove of sorts, hence the name Treasure Trove Machines.
Currently, he aspires to take his company to great heights and be one of the top suppliers of sewing machines across the nation. He understands the difficulty faced by many individuals in particular students in finding the right sewing machine for a particular project. This is why he set up this company to bridge the gap between sewing machine suppliers and the customer’s sewing needs.
